Negroni Week at Six-Tricks: Four Coastal-Tinged Takes with Coolangattan Gin
Bitter lovers, assemble. For one delicious week (22–28 September), we’re saluting Negroni Week with four riffs anchored by our coastal-born Coolangattan Gin. Same iconic bitter-sweet backbone; four distinct moods - from crisp and sessionable to deep and brooding.
What is Negroni Week (and why it matters)?
Launched in 2013 by Imbibe Magazine, Negroni Week is a worldwide celebration that channels the love of this classic cocktail into fundraising - now topping $5 million+ raised to date. Since 2022, donations support Slow Food via the Slow Food Negroni Week Fund, backing community-led projects around sustainability, education, and hospitality.
The Line-Up
Classic
Cooly Gin · Campari · Sweet Vermouth · Orange aromatics
The benchmark. Silky vermouth sweetness, Campari bite, lifted citrus nose. Balanced, assertive, unmistakably Negroni.
Light & Dry
Cooly Gin · Campari · Dry Vermouth · Fino Sherry · Sage
Lean and luminous. Fino brings a saline snap; sage cools the top notes. Crisp, food-friendly, very “one more round”.
Soft & Fruity
Cooly Gin · Campari · Blanc Vermouth · Strawberry · Pine
Rounded edges without getting sticky. Blanc softens the bitterness; strawberry adds a summer gloss; pine whispers on the finish.
Bold & Complex
Cooly Gin · Campari · Punt e Mes · Almond Oil · Black Walnut
Darker and layered. Punt e Mes doubles down on amaro spice; almond oil adds silk; black walnut lingers long.
Why Cooly gin sings in a Negroni
That clean juniper core and bright coastal citrus were made for bitter cocktails: it stands tall in the Classic, snaps into focus with sherry in Light & Dry, carries fruit aromatics in Soft & Fruity, and cuts through the luxe, nutty depth of Bold & Complex - without losing that seaside freshness we love.
