Candle Making Meets Cocktails at Six-Tricks

We've teamed up with Wick & Sip to bring you Wick & Sip at the distillery — a hands-on candle making class with a drink in your hand from the moment you walk in. Add your wick, choose your scent, decorate it your way, then pour your own soy candle to take home. Wick & Sip bring the candle making; we bring the distillery, the drinks and the room.

It's candle making the Six-Tricks way — not a class in a draughty studio, but an evening at our Mermaid Beach distillery with cocktails, good company and something to take home at the end of it.

The Experience: Settle in for a guided soy candle making class led by the Wick & Sip team. You'll learn how to scent, pour and finish your own candle from scratch, with every material provided. Once your candle's done, the night's yours — stay on with a cocktail from our award-winning bar and make a proper evening of it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the candle making class?

The class runs for around two hours and kicks off at 6.30pm. You're welcome to stay on at the bar afterwards.

Do I get to take my candle home?

Yes — you'll pour and finish your own soy candle and take it home with you on the night.

Do I need any experience?

None at all. The Wick & Sip team guides you through every step, so it suits complete beginners.

Can we have dinner before the class?

Absolutely. We recommend booking a table an hour before the 6.30pm start so you can eat and drink with us first and keep your seat for the class. If you've eaten beforehand, just arrive for 6.30pm.

Is it good for a group, hens or birthday?

It's one of the best group nights on the Gold Coast — candle making and cocktails in one spot at Mermaid Beach. Get in touch if you're booking a larger group.
