Empty, stamped with Six Tricks, engraved with your name. An ex-bourbon American oak cask - a real object, not a replica or a display piece. It held your spirit for two years. Now it's yours.

Some people refill it at home. Most just keep it.

Meet the Maker.

Every cask comes with a private session at the distillery with Chris Macklin - our founder and head distiller. He'll pour what's currently in the distillery: new releases, barrel samples, works in progress. Things you can't order at the bar.

Every session is different because what's in the distillery changes. That's the point.

    Your cask rests on display at the distillery, engraved nameplate facing out. Visit by appointment, pull a sample, watch the spirit change. The angel's share does its work. So does the oak.

  • Meet the Maker.

    Bring your guests in for a private
    session with Chris. He'll pour whatever's interesting in the distillery that week. Honest, unscripted, not available to the general public.

  • Bottling day.

    We proof to 46% with pure water, apply your label and hand-number every bottle, Then the bottles are yours - and so is the barrel (25L solo only).

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

What's the angel's share?

During maturation, a small amount of spirit evaporates through the oak - this is called The angel's share. It's a natural part of the process. Our 25L casks are filled to account for it, so your guaranteed 50 bottles are protected regardless of evaporation. On our 50L and 100L casks, which mature in the
warmest part of our facility, evaporation is higher and more variable - we'll confirm your yield estimate at the time of purchase.

Can I sample my cask while it's maturing?

Yes.

One complimentary visit is included during the maturation period, by appointment with at least 7 days notice. You can pull a sample during your visit - just note that sampling reduces your final bottle count proportionally and is subject to availability.

How does the label work?

Your bottles come with a personalised label - our design, your name. For the 25L Solo, Syndicate, and 50L, you choose the words that go on it.

The 100L includes a full custom label design as standard. Custom design is available on any tier and quoted on brief - just let us know what you have in mind when you enquire.

What is the Keeper Cask?

At bottling, your empty 25L oak cask -stamped with Six Tricks and a plate engraved with your name - is returned to you. It's the same ex-bourbon American oak barrel your spirit matured in. Included as standard with every 25L Solo cask.

Can I choose a different cask finish?

Ex-bourbon American oak is our standard.

We can also source ex-sherry, ex-port, ex-red wine, and seasonal specialty casks depending on availability.

Can I split a cask with someone?

Yes - the 25L Syndicate is designed for that. Two people, two nameplates, two separate label designs, 25 bottles each.

Total price is $4,495.

Can I get rum instead of whisky?

Yes.

Our private rum cask is the same program - same sizes, same pricing, same inclusions - using our double pot-distilled Queensland molasses rum. Just let us know your preference when you enquire.

Why don't the 50L and 100L casks have a guaranteed bottle count?

Our larger casks mature in the warmest part of our facility. This drives more oak interaction and a richer, more developed spirit - but it also means more variable angel's share. We'll give you a yield estimate based on current cask conditions when you enquire.

What happens if I need to cancel?

Once your cask is filled, cancellations and refunds aren't available. This is outlined in your purchase agreement - once the spirit is in oak and maturing in your name, the process has begun. We'll walk you through everything in detail before you commit, and Chris calls every new enquiry personally so you can ask any questions before signing.

How do I receive my bottles?

Pickup from the distillery at Mermaid Beach, Gold Coast, or delivery anywhere in Australia. Delivery cost is quoted at bottling based on your location, Keeper Cask and bottle count.
